Penguins Injury Updates, Bryan Rust Still Being Evaluated
USA TODAY Sports

The Pittsburgh Penguins have been without Bryan Rust for their last two games and that trend is likely to continue.

Rust was absent again from a recent practice and Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan stated he was still being evaluated.

“Hopefully we’ll no something over the next couple of days,” Sullivan said on Rust.

The Penguins are in the midst of a three-day break from games but could really use Rust’s services as soon as possible.

Rust has been one of the Penguins’ most productive players through the first portion of the season and he’s been helping drive play on the first line.

In 22 games played, Rust has scored 10 goals and 10 assists for 20 total points.

The Penguins are also still without defensemen P.O. Joseph and Chad Ruhwedel, but they both skated in a full capacity with their teammates at practice.

According to Sullivan forwards Rickard Rakell and Noel Acciari skated with Ty Hennes prior to the practice.

Matt Nieto is continuing his rehabilitation process off the ice and has not yet skated.

The Penguins are down quite a bit of man power but should see some faces returning soon.
